Here are what qualify as flu-like symptoms this fall: Fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills, fatigue. A significant number of people who have been infected with the swine flu virus, say health agencies, have also have reported diarrhea and vomiting.
Based on that assessment, you're probably thinking, "Hey, I might have swine flu right now!" And if not you, then certainly someone in your family. Barely a week goes by in any household when someone isn't experiencing at least a touch of one of these. A runny nose? De rigueur for fall and winter among the under-six set. Headache? A favourite excuse when a test's in the offing.
Its a very tough decision and some have it tougher than others.
ReplyDeleteThe WHO suggests closing the school when 1% of the population are infected..? So in Haultain, if three kids have flu-like symptoms, Mr. Barkley will lock the doors? I doubt it - very vague guidelines. I wonder if Mr. Barkley or the CBE have an official stance for parents to be guided by...?
