Open Postions on the School Council and Parent Association

 
The following positions are still open. Please consider nominating yourself or someone who would be interested in either position:
 
 
Fundraising coordinator
  • to arrange and coordinate fundraising events, not including the Casino, for the school (HMS typically runs three fundraisers per year: SUTP books in September, 50/50 raffle draw in December and flower baskets in May)
  • complete paperwork required for any necessary licenses
  • new fundraising ideas are welcomed!

 
Healthy Hunger Coordinator
 
  • to secure volunteers each month to facilitate the Healthy Hunger program over the lunch hour
  • to organize the lunches, ensuring the students receive their orders in an organized format
  • total commitment is two hours per month, including volunteering between 11:30am - 12:45pm, once a month when the program runs
 
 
If you are interested in holding a position, please come to the next School Council and Parent Association meeting on Tuesday, October 6th, 2015 in the learning commons.

School Council and Parent Association Meeting Tomorrow

The School Council and Parent Association will be voting on four positions tomorrow night:

Key Communicator
Role:
  • to facilitate the exchange of information between the CBE, the school and the parents.
  • attend the CAPSC meetings held during the year and report back on issues that are of interest to our school population.   
  • attend the ASCA conference held in Edmonton in April - any member of council can go in lieu

Healthy Hunger Coordinator
Role:
  • to secure volunteers each month to facilitate the Healthy Hunger program over the lunch hour
  • to organize the lunches, ensuring the students receive their orders in an organized format
  • total commitment is two hours per month, including volunteering between 11:30am - 12:45pm, once a month when the program runs

Fundraising coordinator
Role:
  • to arrange and coordinate all fundraising events, excluding the casino, for the school
  • complete paperwork required for any necessary licenses
  • complete paperwork for the financial report
  • there are generally three fundraisers each year: fall SUTP books, winter 50/50 ticket raffle, spring flower baskets

Casino director
Role:
  • to communicate with AGLC
  • to provide all paperwork needed for arranging for casino funds to be used by the school
  • to coordinate all needed volunteers for the casino event held once every two years

Next School Council and Parent Association Meeting is on Tuesday, September 15



Please plan to attend the first School Council and Parent Association meeting of the year! All parents and guardians are welcome. We will begin the meeting at 6:30 pm in the school learning commons. The meetings usually run until 8:30pm.
